“Though, I’m A Born Artiste But Abeni Agbon Inspired My Acting Career”-12 Yr Old Kid Actress, Adesewa Explains
Earlier today, we Yorubamoviegist.com reported that Ajakaye Omotola aka Adesewa is the next big thing to happen in the Yoruba movie industry. The 12 year-old Osun State-kid actress is at the moment the youngest stage play actress in Nigeria. Adesewa is currently in JSS3 at Great Emmanuel Tender College, Osun State. Recently, at the TAMPAN 2nd convention, which was held at the National Theater, Iganmu, Lagos, she won the 3rd position for her state during the stage play performances of 16 states which Ogun State took the first.
Immediately after her performance, www.yorubamoviegist.com had a brief chat with her and she made us understand that acting for her runs in the blood. According to her, “I’m a born artiste. My parents are also into acting. They are Ajakaye Deborah and Ajakaye Olaitan.
I chose to be an actress because it is a profession that teaches people a lot of moral lessons and if you make use of the lessons learnt in the drama, it makes you a better person in life. Being a daughter from the family of actors gave me the courage to face the crowd and perfect my roles.
I am 12 year-old and the acting has nothing to do with my education. I am in JSS3 at the Great Emmanuel Tender College, Osun State. After my secondary school, I will still my education level beyond university.
Abeni Agbon is my role model in the industry. I appreciate the way she acts and this got me inspired. Apart from the fact that I love stage drama, I also appreciate epic drama a lot because it shows our culture and heritage. I will advise my fellow actors both young and old to embrace our culture than turning it upside down all in the respect of fashion or civilization”, she explained.
