Abimbola Bakare is one of the intelligent filmmakers rocking Yoruba movie industry home and abroad at the moment. The delectable actress cum producer lives in Manchester.
Recently, the pretty Abimbola stormed Nigeria to shoot a multi million naira movie titled, Igba Aje which was coordinated by Yinka Quadri, and the movie is set for a grand premiere in Manchester.
According to her: “The premiere will be grand. This is my first time of premiering my movie, and with this, I want our people here abroad and colleagues from other Ethnic backgrounds to appreciate the essence of our culture.
I have stayed here for so long but i must be very sincere with you, Yoruba has the best culture and heritage, this movie is just to further reaffirm that belief to all and sundry.
The movie explores the beauty inherent in our cultural heritage with a view to bringing to the fore the uniqueness and closeness of Yoruba culture to the western world cultures.
” Its about Yoruba culture,its tradition,morals and values”.
The flick, which features the likes of Yinka Quadri, Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, Lateef Adedimeji, Peju Ogunmola, Fathia Balogun, Olaiya Igwe, Mukah Ray and many others will be premiered on Friday 1st September 2017, at 48, Lord Street, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M3 1HN by 8PM. Music by Jide Akanni and admission is free.
