The Yoruba movie industry is no doubt produces several new actors yearly of which after a while, some of them get to limelight while others dumps the profession for another lucrative vocations. But these sets of actors are the new ones the industry recently produced and the boys are doing well for themselves in the industry. Seun Sean Jimoh is one of the actors currently making a statement in the Yoruba movie industry. He is known to be playing the role of a lover boy and armed robber. His role in the movie titled Eje Tutu produced by Rasaq Owooniran was exceptional. He also played a vital role in Tope Osoba’s recent movie titled Single Ladies.

If you have seen a movie titled 6:6 (Mefa Mefa), and then you will know that Yinka Salau needs no more introductions has the talented actor acted extraordinary in the flick. His acting prowess is fantastic. He got to the industry not long ago but he has carved a niche for himself.


Apart from the fact that he is among the new actors doing well in the industry, Korede Wealth Obasan is also a movie producer. He has produced several movies in the past including the one which made his face known to the followers of Yoruba movie industry, and it is titled Agbaje.



Isaka Ajayi is Abeokuta, Ogun State based actor who got into acting a few years ago. His face has been regular in the new films emanating from the state. Isiaka recently produced a movie titled Idojuko which featured the likes of Funmi Abija, Tunde Owokoniran, Lekan Olatunji and many others.



Kola Ajeyemi popularly known as Awilo is one of the fast rising actors who have kept us glue to our Television screens over the years. His incursion into action wasn’t an accident but a passion he has kept inside of him burning since childhood. The Ogbomosho born, Abeokuta based actor was with Odunlade Adekola before he parted ways with him to stand alone.
Ayanfe Adekunle, popularly known as MONSURU is a fast rising Yoruba actor. He is a graduate of Ajibode Grammar School and he gained admission to study theater arts at the University of Ibadan and immediately after his graduation, he delved into acting. He is known as a comic actor acting alongside Akorede Okunu. Ayanfe is also one of the lecturers at Femi Adebayo’s J-15 school of Performing Arts.


Akin Kolapo, otherwise known as Richie Banks is a new hunk off the Yoruba extraction. The rising actor who is living big in Ibadan, Oyo State is the producer of Motoroloju, Ebu Ika and Kuti. Apart from acting, he is also a businessman who travels abroad to get goods for his business. He is the boss of Richie Boutique and Richie Unisex Salon located at Bodija Ibadan.


Though, ToNY mONTANA has been in the industry for a while but he recently being featuring in most movie. He got into the industry through Legacy Caucus.


A fast-rising star in the Yoruba movie industry, Muyiwa Olorode was in the news sometimes ago when he won his debut award and he dedicated it to Odunlade Adekola. Muyiwa, fondly called Mix Rozay by his friends and fans, emerged the Best Upcoming Actor 2014 at the Peers-In-Town award ceremony.
Babatunde Owokoniran is one of the fast rising actors in Nollywood who was discovered by Odunlade Adekola a few years ago and he has many things working for him in the industry. Aside the fact that he got into limelight through Odunlade’s movies, the Mushin Area of Lagos state-born and brought up actor upped his game after he graduated from Odunlade’s theatre school and he has since been taking the lead among the new actors. He has several awards to show for that.
Debo Adedayo, also known as Mr Macaroni is a popular actor, compere, host and entertainer. He is currently a student of Theatre and Film Studies at the Redeemers University. He featured in series of movies such as Ifa Iwa, Omo Eko, Kajola, D.N.A, Ojo Keje, Imole, to mention but a few. He also featured in soap operas and English movies like Mistresses, Armour, Nowhere To Be Found, Face To Face. He is currently planning for his first movie production later this year which will be titled ‘Mr Macaroni. Recently, he won Youth Actor Of The Year Award at the All Nigerian Universities Crest Awards (ANUCA) 2015.
Sola Olaibi aka Mr Gaji is a well-known actor, producer, production manager and a comedian. He joined Legacy Caucus headed by actor cum movie director, Kunle Afod a few years ago but he has been able to establish himself in the industry. Some of the movies he produced are Tiwon Si Konga, Obara, Elegede and Ayepemeji.
In the Yoruba movie industry, Ola Sarumi is one of the promising and popular actors who have carved a niche for himself. He delved into acting a decade ago via Odufa Caucus and after his graduation with them, he moved to the New York Film Academy for more knowledge about film-making. Ola has produced many blockbuster flicks including Oke, Toriola, Adalute and Iwa. Recently, the very industrious Saromi ventured into car business which he now dabble with acting.



On Monday 20th April 2015, the much anticipated movie, Ahun which means stingy, written and produced by fast rising actor, Olasunkanmi Akanni a.k.a Olohun Iyo was released. The blockbuster movie hit market from the stable of Okiki Films. Olohun Iyo is famous for playing the role of an herbalist in the industry.


U.K –based actor and producer, Tomiwa Alajogun, is on the verge of making his mark in the Nigerian movie industry. Film lovers have begun to see his impact from April 2014 when he premiered his two Films. The movies directed by Tunde Ola Yusuf featured the likes of Jide Kosoko, Ayo Adesanya and Lola Ajibola. The producer, who horned his talent at the Manchester school of acting, has featured in a couple of U.K weekly.


Akinosho Ayodeji popularly known as Deji Coco is an Actor and a movie Producer, he acted in numerous movies like Jeje, Alajota, Itan Mi, Iku Doro which bagged him his first award, Revelation Of Year 2011, Best of Nollywood, Kijipa Ife, that also got him his first Nomination for City People Award Entertainment in 2014. Deji produced two movies, Jeje in 2005 and Ife Ewe in 2007.


Fast rising actor cum producer, Femi Oni who came into acting through the help of Idowu Balogun in 2006 is one of the wave making actors rocking the industry at the moment.


Ibadan born hip hop artiste Hon. Jerry K with real name, Prince Asawale Asanike is one of the sons of late Olubadan, Oba Yusuf Oloyede Asanike 1 . The multitalented actor joined Yoruba movie industry not long ago. He aspired for the Oyo State House of Assembly in the last general elections under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party but he was denied the ticket.


Abdulateef Adetola Adedimeji is one of the up and coming actors who are making wave in the Yoruba movie industry. Recently, he featured in a movie titled “Last Assignment” produced by Tawa Ajinsefini. They both got married in the flick which was based on contract, but this became an issue on social media when he was alleged to have secretly married the actress due to the location picture that was released.


Ololade Mustapha Sholagbade is a very popular actor in the industry. He joined the industry through Odunfa Caucus many years ago and he has carved a niche for himself. He was emerged the winner of the 2014 Yoruba Heritage Awards. The actor and producer won the most promising actor of the year category and many more awards.
