Mufutau Sanni who is a veteran actor better known as Ajigijaga or Broken Bottle loved to play the role of hoodlums. The very talented Egba, Ogun State-born thespian died on Friday, July 31, 2015, at his rented apartment at Opeilu Metropolitan Area of Ogun State, sequel to a serious injury he sustained from a domestic accident he had in his sitting room a few months to his 60th birthday. In case you don’t know, on this faithful day, Ajigijaga reportedly woke up and complained of hunger, he requested for fried egg and his young wife, Taiwo Sanni left the house to get groundnut oil to prepare the meal, before she returned, Ajigija fell and had dislocation of bones at his laps before he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Barely five weeks after the death of Ajigijaga, another popular movie star known as Inspector Skede relegated himself from the league of the world sequel to heart and Diabetics related disease which he had been battling with since 2011. Skede is well known for playing the role of a police officer thus the stage name Inspector Skede. On that very day, Skede died in his sleep early morning of the day. Skede was said to have been battling with two dreadful diseases, congestive cardiac failure and diabetics and both ailments were said to have left a big hole in his pocket. The ailments which later claimed his life was said to have manifested in him in 2011 and he was alleged to have resulted to self-medication when he could not afford hospital bills. He was said to have been rushed to a hospital in 2014 when he collapsed; it was at the hospital that he was diagnosed of suffering from congestive cardiac failure and diabetics. Another great script interpreter who kicked the bucket not quite long ago in 2015 is another veteran actor known as Orioye who loved to play the role of a god father to armed robbers in Yoruba movies. The source of his death was unknown to many including the media because he had already been buried before the information leaked out. Subsequently, another Yorubaactor, Tunde Adesina also gave up the ghost a few days after Orioye’s death. Information had it that he lost his life in a ghastly auto crash which occurred on his way to a movie location on Monday 2nd March 2015 at Ago Are Area, beside Saki, Osun State. His remains was buried immediately according to Islamic rite at a cemetery in Saki. The entire Nigerian entertainment industry, particularly Yoruba comedy genre was once again thrown into mourning when the sudden death of a popular comedian Olaitan Babatunde better known as Lagongo, the second wing of the duo of Lagongo and Jembete broke. The talented comedian, actor cum musician died on Sunday 14th December 2014 after he battled an undisclosed ailment. He bowed out in his home town in Ibadan Oyo State. Information further has it that he has been down with the illness for over 3 months before he finally died. He was buried in January 2015. Lastly on this list is the sudden death of a popular make-up act who sometimes played minor roles in theYoruba movie industry, Tosin Abeniade Badmus lost the battle into the cold hand of death. Though, no one is certain about the cause of her death but it was rumoured that the popular beautician has been on sick bed for long before she bowed out in November 2015.
