Film makers, actors and distinguished personalities came to celebrate the theatre practitioner and Governor of Lagos State Theater Art and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria, TAMPPAN, Debo Alexander who clocked 50 on Friday February 19th. The celebration was held at WESTOWN Event Centre, Ikeja and attracted personalities like Senator Anthony Adefuye, Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Steve Ayorinde, Jide Kosoko, Akin Lewis, Mahmood Alli-Balogun, Kunle Afolayan, Ronke Oshodi- Oke, Abbey Lanre, Fokoko, Toyosi Adesanya, Sola Kosoko, Bakky Adeoye and his wife and actress, Ireti Osayemi-Adeoye. A musical performance by Gong Beat founded by the celebrant entertained the audience. Jide Babs and Kunle Afolayan commended the celebrant for his integrity and passion for the theatre industry. In gratitude to God, Debo Alexander says he chose to celebrate on the exact day to show the faithfulness of God. “I thank God for sparing my life and showing his greatness in my family. As Lagos TAMPAN Chairman, we are already planning how to reposition the theater industry in Lagos as we seek the support of the authorities in formulating policies that ‘ll move the industry forward. Senator Adefuye also urged stakeholders in Yoruba section of movie industry to brace up and improve on quality and creativity of their movies as they ought to set the pace in the motion picture industry.
