Since Monday 27th December 2015, force news has been making rounds in the industry that fast rising Yoruba actor, Emmanuel Taiwo Tonade is dead sequel to an error committed by a graphic designer in a big newspaper in Nigeria. According to the information we got, Tonade was written about in the said newspaper which had on the same page an article about those swallowed by ground in 2015. His photograph was mistakenly placed among them and this forcefully made his fans and family members panicking.
In a statement made available to Yorubamoviegist.com Taiwo said, “I have been hearing a lot of rumour that I am dead, but I want to tell you that I am still very much alive. I wondered where the force news was coming from until when a friend showed me one of my photographs that was used in a popular Nigerian Newspaper and it was included among the actors who died in the year. I hastily rejected that claim and embarked on 3 days fasting and prayers to avert it. I bought the paper myself for confirmation and I could see that it was a mistake because I saw a good story of me on the same page. The mistake must have been done by the planners of the page who probably don’t know my face. I want to use this medium to tell my fans that I am not dead. I am still very much alive. I received a lot of calls concerning this. Even some of my family members who couldn’t get in touch with me on time were already panicking but we than God that I am still breathing”.
